Westport Country Playhouse to Experience The Cosby Show Star At Her Best!
Author: admin | Filed under: UncategorizedCliff’s intelligent and verbally gifted better half in The Cosby Show episodes is not only an award winning actress, but also an equally acclaimed director.

I’m aware that a lot of her fans and viewers of the show, already know all this, and that there’s certainly a reason for me, stating all this, all over again.
Ok, let me ask you this.
List me down, a few of Phylicia Rashad’s works as a director.
Or let me make it even simpler – when we talk about Rashad as a director, what is it that hits your mind instantly?
For me, it’s the celebrated American drama, “A Raisin in the Sun”.
She directed the play for the Ebony Repertory Theatre last spring (her third association with the play).
The famous play by Lorraine Hansberry has been celebrated, since its first performance at NYC’s Ethel Barrymore Theater in 1959. The play ran in the same theatre for two years at a go and was judged the best American play of the year, by the New York Drama Critics Circle.
Now let me focus on Rashad’s association with the play –Playhouse Artistic Director, Mark Lamos chose the play, at the top of the directorial list for this season.
In the 2004 Broadway revival of “A Raisin in the Sun”, she played the role of “Lena Younger” and was awarded with a Tony and a Drama Desk award for her performance.
In 2008, she reprised her role in the TV film adaptation of the play. Her performance brought her nominations at the Screen Guild, a Primetime Emmy and a Satellite award and also won her the NAACP Image Award in 2009.
In spring 2010, she directed the play for the first time and now she would be directing it all over again, which guarantees the playhouse audience nothing, but the best of Phylicia Rashad.
So, are you all ready?

When one gets an opportunity to watch The Cosby Show online, it becomes easier to understand the net results of his spontaneity. His experiences with various forms of art, Jazz being a favorite amongst them, can be selective depending on the situation onstage.
Having mastered the tricks of extracting moments of life that render us happy and positive, this legendary 74- year-old comedian still wants to carry on with this profession.
Well, the event was held at the Directors Guild of America, in Los Angeles, on Aug 29. And, the gorgeous actress attended the affair, showing off her slimmer figure, sporting a red radiant mermaid style gown. A lovely hairdo and minimal make-up complimented the aura she exuded with a tinge of sensuality.
